DVD Software HELP!

Hey guys I need some help. When I try to play a DVD on my PC there's an error that says to update the dvd with a software/hardware dvd decoder. The problem is I can't find one for my OS which is Windows Me? Can someone help me out? The sooner I get my CD-Rom working the sooner I can start filling out requests.

DVD drive

I have a DVD/CD-ROM drive. Whenever I try to insert a DVD or CD-ROM, it gives me an error message. It says, "Please insert a disk into drive D:." When I insert an audio cd in the same drive, it works. How do I fix it so it plays DVDs and CD-ROMs also?
