How ya doing. I'm a newbie to the community, as in i joined like 5 seconds ago. I shall start off by saying while I do not have a DVD drive here at my house, i do have access to them.  However, I do have things that I can cap here because I have them on here on my harddrive.

New Member with a Question!

Hey everybody! I'm Aly, and I just joined. I was actually wondering how to screen cap. But not really for to screen cap an entire movie and share the caps with others, but for personal use. You see, I just got a laptop about a month ago for my birthday, and it can *obviously* play DVDs. Now what I want to be able to do is to watch the movie, pause, print screen, crop, and save, in order to make LJ icons. (I know this community is all for screen caps, but icons are the whole reason I want to screen cap, and I really need help!) However when I print screen and paste in paint, there's a black space where the movie image should be. If anybody could help me at all, I would love you forever. :) Thanks so so much!
