Changing cap size using VLC on a Mac?

Last time I had a capping question, you guys were an awesome help so I'm wondering if 'yall can help me out one more time?

I'm trying to use VLC Player to cap a DVD on my Macbook but I'm wondering if there's a way to change the size of the caps? I've tried fiddling with settings to make them bigger but it just keeps saving the caps at the default size of 853x480. Does anyone know how to change this?

Thanks to some of the tutorials in the memories, I've figured out how to change the cap size when using the auto-cap feature but, because of the DVD menus, that didn't really me do any good. Since it doesn't show you the screen when it's capping, I couldn't click the Play button and it just kept capping the DVD's main menu. I tried to hit play and then set up auto-capping but that didn't work at all.

I don't care if I have to cap manually or use auto-cap, or even use a different program, I just need to find a way to make the caps bigger. Any help 'yall can give me would be really great. I'd appreciate any advice at all :)
