Help with PowerDVD

Hey! I have windows xp and I have PowerDVD. The first time I used it, I wasn't able to screencap it. When I did, it would just show up as a black square. Then I tried a few days later and I was able to screencap it and get the picture. It's been about a week or more since then and I'm trying to screencap a movie again and the blackbox is showing up instead of the picture. Can anyone help me with this? I want to be able to screencap on PowerDVD. Thanks!!!

Make sure hardware acceleration is NOT enabled. It should be in the configuration option under the video tab.

What version of PowerDVD do you have? Because mine is 8...

I dont know what to tell you :( For me its:

Configuration >> Video Tab > And then I uncheck Hardware Acceleration.

I could be under 'advanced' or something. All I can say is to just look around, you'll find it eventually. That's what I had to do. Im sorry I couldnt be of more help.

I love you. I was having the same problem but with a green screen, couldn't find how to fix it anywhere so I figured I'd check here, it worked. (((love)))

You might try going to help and doing a search for video acceleration. I'm pretty sure you can set this under more than one place.

I'm sorry I'm vague and can't put my finger on where to find it, but, it's got to be on there somewhere.

using my grr argh frustrated icon for you. :)

The version of PowerDVD that came on my computer was not the full version, so I had to get that one instead. And then to take a screencap, you should just be able to click the "capture frame" button (second from the left) and then hit Ctrl+V to paste it into PSP or whatever.
