Hallo! New member here. I have a technical question, and I hope it's not totally out of place. I want to make caps of my DVDs on my computer, and I have Intervideo WinDVD 5 for Sony VAIO. On InterVideo's website they said that WinDVD 5 COULD take caps, and that all I had to do was either click on the little camera thingie or press "p", and that there was a folder to store all of my caps. Problem is, my computer DOESN'T have a folder for screen captures, and my version of WinDVD 5 doesn't have a camera icon thing. Does anybody know what's up with that?
Also, I've tried making caps on Windows Media Player (XP version) by first pausing the DVD, hitting the "Print Screen" button, and pasting in Paint. Unfortunately, that didn't work either, because when I UNPAUSED the DVD, the picture in Paint "unpaused" as well (I hope that made sense!). Is there anyone computer savvy enough that could help me?!

Date: 2004-08-26 08:46 am (UTC)I know some companies will include DVD software with some of their other products and it's usually a really bare bones version that doesn't cap and is probably missing some other features as well.
You could try turning the video acceleration off in Windows Media player like pessimist suggested, though I've had trouble getting WMP to play some DVDs, or you could try updating your WinDVD (I've heard this helps), you could try getting a less than legal version of PowerDVD or WinDVD, you could buy new software, or you could just find a free demo somewhere. :)
