Sorry for asking something that's probably been asked a million times before. I'll try and keep it brief.
I'm trying to screencap from InterWin DVD, (I think that's the name of the programme), and I'm having issues, namely the dreaded black box of doom.
When I click either 'Print Screen' or 'Ctrl+I' (I've tried both) and paste the image somewhere else, there is a black box around it, which I am unable to crop, or get rid of. It merely moves around with the picture, sometimes obscuring it.
I've had this happen with Windows Media Player before, and know that it can be caused by the video acceleration being too high. So, I checked in my settings and found nothing specifically about that.
I've tried everything I can think of, and I'm stumped, so if anyone had any suggestions, or has experienced this problem before, I'd be grateful for any help.
Thanks.

Date: 2004-11-05 03:23 am (UTC)That is weird. Mine is taken from the character of the same name in the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, but still, that's really cool actually. *amused*

Date: 2005-11-04 11:47 am (UTC)Black Square of Death
Date: 2006-02-14 07:42 pm (UTC)[In WinXP:]
1. Right-Click Desktop
2. Select "Properties"
3. Choose "Settings" Tab
4. Click "Advanced" Button
5. Choose "Troubleshoot" Tab
6. Slide "Hardware Acceleration" slider to "None" (all the way to the left.
7. OK button a bunch to get out.
Now, no matter HOW you're watching video (Widows Media Player, 3rd PArty DVD player or *even in a web browser*, you can hit the "Print Screen" button and it'll copy it into your paste buffer (errr, I mean "Clipboard")
Then paste it into your favorite image program and crop to suit.
Hope this helps SOMEONE! :)
